Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina (or Antonia) Shevchenko is a Kyrgyzstani Muay Thailand fighter in the UFC's flyweight division. Valentina is her older sister, and also a UFC competitor. Antonina Shevchenko's career in combat sports started with her debut as a Muay Thai athlete. Shevchenko debuted on the IFMA World Championship Tournament in 2003. Shevchenko took the title and then defeated Suzane Mller by unanimous vote. Antonina Shevchenko won a second medal in 2007 with a bronze, a silver in 2008, and a gold in 2011, and then was named in the position of IFMA Amateur World MuayThai Champion in the year 2016. Antonia, who began her professional career in 2003, was crowned in 2012 and the 2016 World Lion Fight Lightweight Champion. In 2016, the WMC World Championships also held in 2016 and she took home the 2016 IFMA Muay Thai World Champion. Antonina was a part of Isa TIDBLAD Keskikangas's fight last at Phoenix Fighting Championship. The victory was a unanimous one. Antonina Shychenko's first professional MMA debut took place in 2002 at the KFK Cup of Kyrgystan in which she fought Anara Bayanova. She went 3-0, after winning the second-round TKO. The following two bouts were won by WXF: X-Impact World Championships in 2003. Shevchenko took a break from MMA in order to concentrate on the sport of kickboxing. She made her comeback to fight Anissa Haddaoui at Phoenix FC 3, 2017. Shevchenko defeated Anissa by unanimous decision after which she beat Valerie Domergue in Phoenix FC 4. She was a part of the Dana White Contender Series 2018 following the departure of the league. Shevchenko wrestled Jaimelene Nievera as part of Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series. Antonina utilized her strike techniques in order to TKO Nievera in the clinch via knees to the body. Following this victory, Antonina received a UFC deal. Antonina Shevchenko debuted in UFC at her debut at the TUF Finals TUF Heavy Hitting match against Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko lost to Roxanne modafferi in a split decision, after winning her debut fight. Antonina recovered from this defeat by beating Lucie Pudilova at UFC on ESPN Covington against Lawler by a rear-naked choke submission. The result earned her the prize of fight-of-the-night. Shevchenko had a 1-2 record during her subsequent three matches, winning over Ariane Lipski, while being defeated by Katlyn Clarkagian as well as Andrea Lee. Antonina was recently defeated by Casey O'Neill via TKO at UFC Fight Night Santos-Walker.
