Pop Smoke gained popularity as the Brooklyn drill producer through his collaboration in collaboration with UK producer 808Melo Axl Beats & Yoz Beatz. Welcome to the Party was the debut single off the mixtape he released as his debut Meet the Woo, which came out in July 2019. In August of 2019, two remixes of Welcome to the Party featuring American rapper Nicki Minaj as well as British rapper Skepta were released. In April of 2019 Pop Smoke released his breakout single Welcome to the Party the lead single of his debut mixtape, Meet the Woo (2019). The song was recorded and remixed with Nicki Minaj in the first version, as well as Skepta with the second one, both released in August of 2019. The song stands out due to the usage of UK drills, a technique that was to be found throughout all his discography. It was due to the frequent collaborations 808Melo, an British drill manufacturer.
