Anne Burrell
Anne W. Burrell, an American TV chef and an former Institute of Culinary Education instructor She is also a television personality. She hosts Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network. With her signature spiky blond hair and her pumped-up appearance, Anne Burrell eliminates the intimidation of eating out and offers straightforward, simple techniques to master for the at-home cook on her Food Network series Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. Chef Burrell has also worked at several of the most prestigious restaurants within New York, studied the cuisine and culture of Italy as well as competed in the Food Network's Iron Chef America. As a child in Upstate New York Chef Burrell was inspired by food. The Culinary Institute of America was the catalyst for her passion for restaurant management after she earned an English/Communications degree at Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was where I had the most fun time of my life. I couldn't seem to get enough out of the experience. After graduating, chef Burrell resided in Italy for one year studying at an Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. Also, she was employed at La Taverna del Lupo and La Bottega del 30 (a Michelin starred restaurant) located in Tuscany. It was during this time that her experience in Italy has helped her understand and appreciate the Italian tradition and philosophy, and this has left an impact on her own food and culinary experience. Burrell participates on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that brightens up the lives of struggling children. She also is an Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Celebrity Advocate, where she raises awareness about the condition of children with diabetes. Burrell speaks on her culinary passion, and also shares her expertise in the culinary world as she frequently is in the United States for the roles of speakers and mentors. Anne has always been grateful she was able to share her passion that she had for cooking with others.
